Did anyone make soap this weekend?

i had to make 2 6 lb batches of Yuzu, made a honey patchouli and a Santa's pipe. I have more to do but not time..

Nope, still waiting on the soap kitchen to be ready.... But I did go to a Reiki workshop!

I didn't but really needed to cause I'm having surgery this Friday. Maybe I'll make one last batch for this season tomorrow. The last couple of batches the swirls over heated and on the last one I ended up eating a lye crystal that must have been left on the counter and then gave myself a chemical burn on my face from when I cleaned the pots and didn't get it washed off my hands well, so I got nervous and haven't soaped when I really need to finish 5 more batches! Oh well!

Oh Carol, ouch. That hurts, I hope you are okay. I have had it splash my face once, thank God for safety glasses, I got it off quickly so no bad burn , but it does scare a person..

Well what happen is I think after I got done washing up everything I touched something that had a diluted lye solution like the vinager bottle or maybe the sponge and then I put my hand on my face and it felt really warm after a bit and that is when I saw in the mirror the red marks where my fingers had been. It was like a chemical peel, I had to get in the shower cause it wouldn't go away with just rinsing. Now I have different shades of skin on my left cheek so hopefully one day it will not be permanent.

OMGosh Carol...I'm glad to hear you are ok after all that. I hope your next soaping experience is much, much better . And, best wishes with your surgery. I don't want to be nosy, but is it serious...I hope not ?

I am having a carpel tunnel release on my left hand and a removal of what we think is a ganglion mass on my wrist but it is growing into my thumb so I need to take it out. I don't heal really great so I hope it won't be terrible. Took 3 months to lift when I had the right hand done and it was only a carpel tunnel release. Oh well gotta take care of it while I still have health insurance!

On No...I hope you recover quickly. I will add you to my prayer list.

I'm FINALLY making soap this weekend! My lye order arrived yesterday, the soap kitchen is in workable condition, and it's been far too long. I'm going to make an 100% olive oil to start because it'll take a while to dry and I'd like to do my own single oil experiments to keep all conditions consistent. I'm unhappy with my job so hopefully I'll soon be able to earn an income through soaping and Reiki!

Thanks Guys! Surgery went well ! I just can't take this bandage much longer, it doesn't come off till Monday and I can't wait to take a shower without a bag on my hand!
I got bored and poured candle tarts yesterday, shhh don't tell the Dr!

LOL, we would never tell a soul...I don't blame you for doing it, sitting around is no fun at all.

House has NOT sold!!!!!!!!!!!! Story of my life. LOL............weather is so gorgeous here. The trees are so pretty and the air is so crisp. Sounds like a commercial.
