Scented Body Powder??

Has anyone made body powder without Tapioca Starch?

I've had some powder shakers hanging around in my supplies for about 3 years now and I've never even opened the box So I thought that I'd give scented body powder a go. But all the recipes I have in my files and all the ones I've found online call for Tapioca Starch. Not only do I not have any, but I really don't want to use it if I don't have to.

I read someplace that it was a substitute for Arrowroot Powder. But it was my understanding that Arrowroot Powder was used as a sub for Cornstarch (another powder ingredient). So, that doesn't make sense to me

If anyone has any knowledge to share on handmade powders I'd sure be grateful.

It looks like all the recipes seem to either have tapioca starch or another ingredient that I don't have. So, I guess the powder idea will have to be shelved again until I can get the supplies to do it right.

I have to give hug kudos to my hubby though. He knew that I was in need of tapioca starch for this project. So when he went to town yesterday, he serched high and low until he found some. And he came home with 2 pounds of it for me. Gosh i love and adore that man!! I think I'll keep him for another 27 years *giggle*
